Rati Mishra, Founder & Principal
"The design is never about what we want to do. It's about understanding the architecture, the light, the life that unfolds inside — and giving each homeowner the very best of what they love."
Rati Mishra founded DekoRati Interiors on a singular conviction: that a truly extraordinary home is not designed for you — it is discovered with you. Raised in India, she developed an intuitive and fearless relationship with color, pattern, and the way light transforms a room. After a decade in technology, she pursued her passion formally through UC's Interior Design program, refined her craft alongside some of the Bay Area's leading firms, and established her own studio in Pleasanton in 2015. Today, her work spans ground-up construction to curated furnishings — each project a quiet collaboration between her mastery of scale, material, and proportion, and the singular lives her clients lead within these walls.
ABOUT THE FIRM
DekoRati Interiors was founded in 2015 on a belief that the most enduring spaces are not simply decorated — they are composed. Since opening our doors in Pleasanton, we have built a reputation for interiors that are as architecturally considered as they are personally felt: spaces where a discerning client's life, aesthetics, and aspirations are woven into every material selection, every sightline, every quiet corner.
Our practice spans the full arc of residential design — from partnering with architects during ground-up construction, where the real luxury lies in getting the bones exactly right, to the final act of styling a room until it breathes with the character of the people who live in it. Every project, regardless of scale, receives the same unhurried attention: a clear design concept, a steadfast commitment to budget and function, and an unwillingness to compromise on integrity.
Our work has drawn the attention of the broader design world, with features in shelter publications and recognition from industry organizations including ASID, NKBA and IDS. We are proud of those distinctions — and equally proud that our most valued credential remains the trust of a client who says their home finally feels like them.
We must understand the architecture, the scale, the way light moves through a room — and layer into that the personality of the people who call it home. The result should feel inevitable. As if it could never have been any other way."
Rati is extremely professional and a good listener and this along with her creativity and attention to detail really stood out. Her endless enthusiasm and professionalism made the whole process easy for us.
